Peptides In Skincare- Aura Beauty Mist

If there's one word that's been on the lips of skincare enthusiasts, it's "peptides". And why not? After all, peptides are the miracle molecules that help our skin heal and repair itself. They're a major component of collagen (the stuff that keeps our skin looking youthful), and they play a role in keeping skin supple and firm. So what exactly is this magical ingredient? Well, I'll tell you!

Peptides, also called polypeptides, naturally occur in our skin and are short chains of amino acids that act as building blocks of proteins such as collagen, elastin and keratin. They bind with these proteins and essentially encourage the skin to produce more. They stimulate skin repair and inhibit signs of aging without the irritating or toxic effects of other anti-aging ingredients, like retinoids, can have. They help make the skin look firmer, smoother and younger in addition to being highly moisturizing. This is essential because our body's own production of collagen and elastin starts to decline after the age of 20.

Peptides bind with collagen and elastin, encouraging skin to produce more.

Our skin is made up of three layers: the epidermis (the outermost layer), dermis (the middle layer), and subcutaneous tissue (the deepest layer). The epidermis is primarily composed of dead cells that are constantly being shed to make room for newer cells. When we have healthy skin, those older cells are replaced by new ones at a steady rate—but sometimes this process slows down or stops entirely due to certain factors like aging and stress.

When this happens on a large scale, our skin can look dull and feel rough because it’s not as smooth or flexible as it used to be. It also won’t be able to retain moisture as well as younger skin does; this makes dry patches even more noticeable than they might have been otherwise. Peptides help support this process by supporting a healthy skin barrier and encouraging cell turnover which helps brighten an uneven complexion as well as treat acne scars and dark spots. Peptides can even have a mild Botox-like effect that can relax muscles and treat fine lines.

At TGS we use one of the most botanical (non-synthetic) forms called Citrullyl-arginine: a natural red algae extremely rich in arctic peptides, sustainably harvested and known for protecting, hydrating and regenerating the skin—a source of arginine and a precursor for collagen production.

Formulated in our Aura beauty Mist it is the ultimate pro-collagen and skin regenerator.

In a Clinical study realized under dermatological control, 35 women aged 30 to 60 received a treatment of (1%) applied twice a day on the face for 28 days.

The results showed that it helped to fill in wrinkles, firmed up loose skin and plump up fine lines around the mouth.

Protect, repair the skin barrier, and prevent water loss for an ageless glow by incorporating Aura Beauty Mist into your skincare regimen. Apply after cleansing, before applying your facial oil and anytime during the day to refresh, protect, hydrate and set your makeup.
